POLYMER FEED EQUIPMENT
Emulsion Polymer Feed Systems
Emulsion polymers require precise dilution with fresh water to achieve optimal effectiveness. This process, which involves mixing the polymer with clean water at specific rates and providing sufficient agitation to completely invert the emulsion, creating a stable, effective polymer solution for water and wastewater treatment applications.
The “UGLY” Feeder
Developed to address a critical market need, the ‘UGLY’ emulsion polymer feeder tackles the rising cost of polymer feed equipment. Our goal was to create an affordable feeder capable of handling any emulsion polymer for any application, while delivering additional benefits our customers demand.
Key Advantages:
- Easy maintenance – The unit disassembles quickly for cleaning when water supply interruptions cause polymer buildup
- Minimal downtime – No moving parts except the high viscosity polymer pump, eliminating mechanical failures
- Simple repairs – PVC construction makes repairs straightforward and cost-effective
- Flexible installation – Floor-mounted or wall-mounted configurations available
Components:
- ROTO meter for precise dilution water control (flow ranges from 0 to 100 gpm depending on model)
- Static mixers for thorough blending to desired solution strength
- Choice of LMI or A&F high viscosity polymer pump for accurate emulsion injection
DRY POLYMER FEED EQUIPMENT
Hootonanny Flocculant Disperser
Wetting 5 pounds of powder per 10 to 15 gallons of water, the AQUAMARK, INC. Hootonanny flocculant disperser produces a 4% to 6% flocculant concentration. This concentrated solution is then diluted and thoroughly mixed to the desired working concentration, typically 0.1% to 0.5% for dry polymer applications.
Specifications:
- Connection: 6 feet of 1″ tubing (included)
- Nominal lift: 5 vertical feet
- Nominal lift rate: 1 lb. (0.45 kg) dry polymer per minute
GEOTEXTILE DEWATERING SOLUTIONS
Geotextile Dewatering Bags and Tubes
Geotextile tubes offer a unique and efficient method for containing and dewatering solids from ponds, rivers, lakes, municipal waste lagoons, and industrial remediation projects. When combined with conventional dredging techniques and our specialized polymers, geotextile tubes provide the most efficient means for removing and dewatering solids.
Applications include:
- Pond, lake, and river solids removal
- Superfund site remediation
- Industrial pond cleanup
- Phosphate removal
- PCB remediation in ponds
- TPH removal and remediation
- Process solids recovery
- Municipal sludge dewatering
- Mining applications
- Fly ash removal
- Marina applications
- Groundwater remediation
Sizing Options:
Geotextile tubes are available in sizes ranging from small units designed for 10 and 22 cubic yard dumpsters to large-scale solutions with circumferences from 15 to 120 feet and lengths from 50 to 400 feet.
AQUAMARK Polymer Chemistry for Geotextile Tube Dewatering
Our proven process begins with drainage tests to determine the optimal chemistry and polymer for your specific application. Pilot pumping using a small tube validates the performance before full-scale implementation. For larger projects, we design customized chemical and polymer feed systems.
Advantages:
- Faster drainage
- Dryer sludge
- Superior solids retention
- Clean filtrate discharge
- Paint filter test compliance
- Reduced hauling and disposal costs
